In recent years for us, as good Odoo Partners, the appointment with Odoo experience has become a sacred, obligatory stop that distinguishes the attachment and harmony towards this extraordinary software, the parent company, and the entire community.
This year, I was positively impressed by the leap forward that has been made in terms of maturity. I am not referring to the Odoo product itself but to the overall attitude.
In past years, the comparison between Odoo and other ERP solutions, especially SAP, was a constant variable used to highlight the good features of the product. It was a procedure that systematically kicked in to try and mock the competition. Personally, I have never hidden my disappointment with this kind of attitude on various social channels, also because, in my opinion, we are talking about essentially different products despite being in the same sector.
This time, however, Fabien refrained from simplistic comparisons and focused solely on the product. Odoo is Odoo; it is an excellent, solid product that no longer needs to reference more renowned or older names to look good in the public eye. A great sign of maturity, which somehow certifies the impressive growth seen in recent years, both numerically and, above all, qualitatively.
During the keynote speech, it was evident that we are not facing the half graphic-technical revolution shown last year, but the improvements and new features introduced are certainly interesting.
I was sincerely impressed by the changes introduced in the new URL system, which is now much more concise and professional. But what truly left me speechless is the fact that from each link, you can call a JSON structure simply by replacing the string 'odoo' with 'json'—brilliant!
Another thing definitely worth mentioning is the presence of the Startup Village. This year, in fact, the decision was made to host dozens of startups in collaboration with Google in a separate pavilion. In the same pavilion, there were prestigious brands such as Tesla, BMW, and others.
A clear message that gives a glimpse of the evolution that the Odoo Experience could take in the coming years: a 360-degree tech fair, the largest in Europe, with Odoo as the main protagonist. In short, the company and CEO/founder Fabian Pinkaers are proving to have a great long-term vision.
As for the rest, well... the rest is the Odoo Experience: thousands of people from all over the world gathering every year to witness the release of the new version and much more. Hundreds of talks and other events, dozens and dozens of companies (partners and non-partners), music events, great food, joy, and a festive atmosphere.
From our side, therefore, we can be definitely satisfied and congratulate Odoo for the organization.
